Men’s Health at Z-Games

02 September 2011

Thinking that nothing happens in summer except heat and vacations, one is at least greatly wrong, and ultimately, this means that one lost a lot. In summer, the Z-Games – major music and sports festival throughout Eastern Europe – is held in Popovka village, Crimea. Of course, Men’s Health are also attending.
The two last weeks of July in Popovka would be memorable to all Z-Games guests and participants for long, while they came there in great numbers. Sportsmen along were above 800 from various countries: Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, as well as France, Japan, Switzerland. Among them were world class professionals: world free run champion and Guinness record breaker Tim Shieff from the UK, famous parkour runner and Guinness record breaker from Russia Erik Mukhametshin, as well as top hip-hoppers and
B-boys of the planet – UK from Great Britain, KEYZ from France, Kosto and Robin from the Top Nine team, BOOTUZ (Predatorz Crew).
The main difference between Z-Games-2011 from last year’s festival is that the Action Sports Park appeared on its territory, occupying around 5 hectares. The largest and most state-of-the-art 80-metre swimming pool for wakeboarding in Europe, the unique 7-metre rock-climbing attraction above the water, with complicated bouldering route, parkour park, and best technological dirts for BMX and MTB. The Z-Games site also has equipped grounds for kiting, sail catamarans, and a special dancing ground for hip-hop and break-dance competitions. For training and preparation of the most extreme tricks, Z-Games organizers brought a unique 15x9 m freestyle pillow, on which not only professional sportsmen, but also amateurs could safely train complicated tricks and sharp freestyle elements on bmx and mountain boards.
On all kinds of sports presented at the festival, competitions were held including the European Mountain Board Cup, and one stage of the Ukrainian Championship on kite surfing.
During the breaks between the competition, the sportsmen, supported by Men’s Health, held master classes, helping all people willing to associate themselves with the kind of sports they like. For instance, Men’s Health together with the Wind School held master classes on managing sail catamarans.
Festival guests and participants could have a rest and have a nice and healthy meal in the BARSUK Men’s Health surf bar.
BARSUK Men’s Health surf bar is organic food, grill on fresh air, pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, besides one can look through a fresh issue of Men’s Health and have a rest after a busy day spent at Men’s Health parties. By the way, Men’s Health even had its own competition at Z-Games – mini-championship of khaki-sack, all participants receiving prizes from the magazine.
Well , this was clearly a first-rate holiday. However, one can be sure that next year this would be even better! See you at Z-Games-2012!
